Sms I sent to DAZ at 6.30pm tonight,

So how`d you go? How many tail shafts, how many starters, how many alt`s, how many steering arms, how many scotty`s and of course how many trees? Now what place?

Reply I got back at 6.55pm tonight.

Scott has gone off to hospital, only hit 3 trees and Matt`s car, wrapped windscreen around cage, rebuilt winch and driven every stage to end, but 3 dnf, 6th over all as of last night, one stage to go, all good. by far best event I have done, Loving it.

So I don`t know if he`s giving me shit back about the sms I sent or not :?

I`ve seen DAZ take 45 mins to type out a sms to send to penny and all it said was O K

Spoke to him on the phone and he sounds like he is having a ball (arsehole  ) Scotty had a bad fall while doing a winch and has badly busted his knee/leg and has had no choice but to go home. I also very briefly spoke to him as well.

DAZ is going to ring me tomorrow after the event has finished

ummm...

PGS boys went home with a busted Suzi. Broken panhard rod brackets, they tried to weld it back together on Sat night but broke again Mid Sunday. Were having fuel problems as well.

Kevy Nott rolled 2 times but is ok, got the car back on its wheels and all is fine and then hammered his way through SS7, With Sandy breaking a front left CV in the creek on the run down to the winch wall, then while on full noise busted the right CV half way up and finished getting pulled around by Kevy.

Not sure who was/is leading at the moment.

I was up there all weekend and left just before presentation today. When i left it was pretty clear that Birdy and Hoon were going to win. Last night they were 25 points clear of second place (Rohan, Cass, Dave and Wayne). Although Rohan and Dave beat Birdy and Hoon by 1 min 40 on the only stage today, the only way for them to drop out of 1st place would be if they DNF'd, which they didn't. When i left it looked like Birdy and Hoon would be in 1st, Rohan and Dave in 2nd and most likely Sandy and Kevin in 3rd.

1. birdy and pete 941 points out of possible 1000
2. rohan & dave 927
3. sandy & kevy 793
4. bevan & brett
5. lowe & glenn

I cant remember all the results but have a copy somewhere however the difference between the top 5 and the rest were chalk cheese in performance.

Was a great comp. Good mix of long fast stages, tight twisty stuff around trees, still plenty of mud and long hills and climbs to drive and winch up.

Plenty of panel damage over the weekend, i dont think one truck came home unscaved. As mentioned in an earlier post Kevy from QL went for a tumble, the truck actually came out of it relatively straight which is good. Good effort from him to come all the way down here with his truck.

Had to battle it out with a few other very competative teams, fortunately for us mechanical issues took their tole on most other teams, Al Mac and Rod were leading the way until their problems occured. Dave and Rohans team were right up there till the end, the competativeness was awsome, certainly kept us on our toes as Dave, Wayne, Roan and Cass tried to peg back our slim lead.

If anyone has any photos i wouldnt mind gettin a copy.
Joe.

To succeed, focus on the solution, not the problem.

Congrats to Pete Mihaloff & Adam Bird, who by all acounts,
made it very hard for the other teams to catch them. Birdy
has won alot of comps but Pete has always come colse and
this time he's cracked it for a big win....good on ya mate!

Can't wait to read about the comp in more detail...........

Dave.
