I had one behind my old mud racer, it was powered by a wrx motor and a bw 40 with a 4500 stall... Never had any probs with it, other guys run them behind 400-500hp chevs and never have any thing break!!
I think the real early ones had smaller flanges on them though, so try for a later one??

GQ 4.2 Turbo Diesel, 4" spring, 2" body, 35" ET2's...etc
handbrake is on the rear brakes. they are a divorced t/case and are reasonably strong. Never heard of them breaking and some owners in the states run injected V8 with them. not sure on gearing but that should be easy to find out.

"with no offset on the outputs and the input is over the top"
do you mean just on the rear or is the front output centred too?:s
nah not a buggy a bundera.............. just looking at options for box and transfer. with gq diffs (ive got 80 diffs too if i find a better option with a ofset rear)

Buy the bellhousing from 100 series 2uz then run 80 series cruiser auto (or manual?) and tcase- strongest toyota have made.
Also there is a factory 2uz/ A34# auto/ 100 series tcase combination?
Adaptors available for 1uz to just about any cruiser box and transfer- ie your original bundy box.
I would also check if there is an adaptor from the 1uz auto to landrover lt230 transfer- they have great gearing options (try Bubs?).
If using gq diffs-
Bubs can make 1uz auto to gear hilux tcase- would be my first choice.
Adaptors available for 1uz/ Rseries manual/ gear hiux transfer.
You could look at adaptor for 1uz to gq box and transfer (I have the "small" manual from rb30/ rd28t in the shed- does look a bit long though).
Dana 300 tcase- these can be adapted to nearly anything.
There could be more than this but at least this covers the easy to find parts options.
Yep centred front and rear.badger wrote:"with no offset on the outputs and the input is over the top"

another option could be, if you want to go devorced, a MQ devorced case, I think they are much the same gearing but are offset front and rear.
