New ZOOK - build up Q's
i dont see how the $300 body lift is different to other lift blocks, if you slip body blocks in you can take them, out!!
buy your blocks, pull out your bolts from one side measure then purchase bolts 2" longer!!! look the same as the $300 stuff just cheaper!!
i did mine for $100 max and its reversable!! just remove blocks the same way i put them in!!

You obviously don't have a Sierra or haven't fitted a bodylift. Six of the 10 body mounts have fixed studs not bolts, most kits require these to be cut down and a long nut (not sure what they're called) and a bolt from under the chassis mount into this.evanstaniland wrote:i dont see how the $300 body lift is different to other lift blocks, if you slip body blocks in you can take them, out!!

1. it's a PITA
2. Can be installed incorrectly
3. Once cut off if you take the BL out you're stuck with set up
The Gutless kit doesn't require these studs to be cut off therefore if the BL comes out it can go back to factory spec.
If you can NEVER see yourself wanting to fit larger than 30" tyres, then don't worry about the body lift. If 31's or larger may be on the cards in the future, then the BL will get you the much needed clearance for both the current, and future rubber.vicelore wrote:well i will be looking into it . no sujestions from anyone ? is a 2icnh body lift and shakles / 30s a bad idea for a start ?? cheers guys
Extended shackles will also help a little, but don't make them longer than 2" over the stock length, or you may experience some narley (spelling??) on road behaviour from your zook

I machine a LOOOOONG M16 bolt down so that just the shank and the head are left ( no thread), then I drill a hole down the guts of the bolt shank, then tap a thread into it. All done on a lathe, and $300 is a fair price in my opinion considering how hard it is on the tooling drilling into high tensile bolts etc.
The stud cutting BL kit for the sierra ( which I used to make) takes 4-6 hours to fit correctly.
The reversable one has been done in just over an hour.
Nobody has to buy my $hit, nor do they have to pay $300 for a body lift elsewhere, but in this case.......you DO get what you pay for, and nobody is left to drive around in a zook with open ended RHS as a body lift.
