I'm pretty sure the pushrod in the slave cylinder is longer for the 5 speed.. nothing a cut down bolt of the appropriate length can't fix!

Go to a wreckers, and look for any L series 6cyl engined Datsun (Skyline R30/C210, 240zx etc) and take the pushrod and slave cylinder, and see how that works out (even if only the pushrod is used) as I'm pretty sure all of them had 5 speeds

good luck

hey guys, i've just done the same conversion and am having the same problem!

what i've discovered so far, after having it at a clutch joint:

the slave cylinder from my diesel 4spd does not line up with the clutch fork. it is on too much of an angle to allow the pushrod to slide all the way into the cylinder when the clutch is let out -- was thinking I *might* be able to shortern it but i don't think that's the best solution. What i'm looking at now is getting a custom-made selector fork but am wondering if I can mod the inside of my slave (the little dish thing that the pushrod rests again) to somehow let it work. there's sweet F.A. room to move the slave anywhere, please can someone suggest anything? I dont wanna pull my box out again!!!

i dont know about the diesels but the petrol 4 and 5 spds had a change in parts from August 85 they changed the slave cylinders so i have to order the 86 model 1 in order to get it to all work
