supercharger hook up help?
can anyone help me in explaining how to hook up a supercharger to a 2.8l diesel hilux? ive decided to put the supercharger on before i get the v8 for her. heres a few pics if it helps.
my basic understanding is stainless pipe and rubber elbows run one form air box to the sc then other pipe from sc to airintake. the two wires to ignition but the oil or fuel lines (dunno wat they are) thats the bit im stuck on. and how do i work out which way the plumbing should go?
cheers jack

the lines are actually vacuum lines of some description, the SC14 use an internal sump system. you need to make (modify altinator brackets) to fit it up preferably higher in the engine bay. you will need a pully machined up as the 5 rib serpentine is different to ur standard belt. then while ur in the market for the new pully investigate how big it needs to be for the boost you want to run. find a belt that is about the right size (crank, alt, blower) and use the alt to tension it as usual.
hope that helps, never seen it done to a lux but heaps of commodores.

plenty of parts on the bench
that was funny when daniel did that to the eh, all the trouble of getting everything right and it was still shit. the turbo off that backhoe was heaps better......even if it lasted only 5mins.Sic Lux wrote:i'd be runnuing a multi grove belt not a v style mate set his up on a red holden six and it just slipped all the time(unsure if it was overdriven or not) i also think gilmier(spelling?) do a pully/belt set up for these style blowers i was talking to a guy at repco about them so try there best bet talk to a manager or 2ic most of the other know all or http://www.rodshop.com.au/ have alot to do with these blowers.

if you want to find out more info on the super charger its self have a look in the forums on toymods.
the super charger you have is an SC14 off a 1G-GZE 2lt inline 6.
those lines are vacum lines.
the SC stands for Super Charger.
this is a roots type blower churning 1.4ly per min-honce the 14.
if your looking for a good book on superchargers-has lotsof info on setup and installs, look for superchargered! by corky bell.
very helpfull.
i looked at putting one of these on to my 2L but deciced bythe time i had set it all up,moved stuff around to make it fit my engine bay how i wanted etc it was gonna be cheaper and easier to get a turbo kit.
but thats just me.
cheers
