The excitement of Fraser Island this year was a bit much for my hj60 and the gearbox finally started to whine like its going out of fashion.
Quotes are the usual $1700 minimum to rebuild and $3300 to replace. I think 4wdsystems do a swapover for $2600 + whatever needs replacing to recon the old one, so $3300 is prolly on the money.
So I'm looking for a donor vechicle, I see a few tired HJ60's with turbos and the odd locker or winchbar under 4k which if they have an ok gearbox seem quite suitable.
FJ60's on the other hand are a dime a dozen, I know the FJ60's have h55f's also, is anyone aware if the shafts are the same and will bolt straight into a HJ60? I've read a few posts which just talk about 60's being 60's.
Also will a 3/84 have a 34 or 38mm idler shaft? Does anyone know the exact month these changed?
Cheers!

Are you after another H55F? Because i have one that needs a rebuild it jumps out of gear, it still has the transfer attached which is still good, it is a vacume transfer H4. Is that what ya after? If so Pm and we will talk but looking around the $400 mark for the whole lot.
