MK diff leaking
MK diff leaking
after having my patrol sit in the drive way for 6 weeks, while i waited on parts to fix it, the rear diff has statred to leak from behind the brakes,
does this mean that i need a wheel bearing kit to fix it?

or is there something else?
car is a 1983 SWB MK, L28, rear diff is a H233B i think...
thanks.

i thought it was an axel seal... but when i rang repco they said all this stuff about kits and such and it confused me...
i also rang other places and they said that there was an inner and an outer?
is this right?
or am i better off taking my diff to a diff person and getting them to do it?
i have a spare diff at home which i just started pulling apart cause i will be using the brakes off it as mine are up the creek...
the crown wheel (the big one) sayd 37:9 is that the ratio of that diff?
im about to take the one out of my car aswell... so hmm..

I dont think there are any inner seals for a MQ/K diff, just the outer one
All you need to do is remove the drum, unbolt the axle flange and pull the axle out.. pop the old seal out with a screwdriver, and put the new one in - fairly simple
And to re-seal the diff center, ultra blue is your friend!
