hey, guys
Nice site..
my narrow track feroza needs new tyres, it has 205 75r15 but im not sure wat size will fit without lifting the body.. i want 30 x9.5r15 but dont no how this compares to current ones or if they would fit.?

I would not run 30x9.5inch tyres on a standard height feroza. Standard feroza tyres are around 27inches compard to 30inches for a 30x9.5

If u lift the feroza up with either suspension lift or body lift then yes 30x9.5's will fit.

If u dont wanna lift the feroza then maybe a set of 215/75 or 225/75 tyres would suit u better. What do u wanna do with your feroza, use it as a shopping trolley or maybe do some easy 4WDriving or do u wanna do some harder stuff :?:

I'm running 235/75's on my feroza with 40mm suspension lift. I wouldn't recommed running that size tyre on a standard height feroza with the front anti-swaybar removed unless u want the tyres rubbing on the plstic under the guards :finger: :finger:

My Feroza has a 2 1/2 inch suspension lift, and they dont rub anywhere.

225/70R15 is what came standard on my narrow track ELIII- they are fine for standard height suspension. They are around 8mm larger in diameter than your current tyres.


As James has mentioned your current 205/75R15 tyres are only 27" diameter, so a 30" is a big increase - I don't know if anyone has tried that size with standard height suspension.

Thanks for your comments. I want to get the most grip i can without a suspension lift, but i would do a body lift once i read more threads about doing it. Also if i fit larger tyres does any1 know where i can get my speedo recalibrated around northern NSW or brisbane/gold coast? I mainly use it for the beach and fire trails with some mud but generally formed roads of some sort.

Most cars (particularly older ones with cable speedos- ie Ferozas) usually read under the actual speed anyway. I did some calculations for changing to a 235/75R15 from my current 225/70R15 and the difference was only 4km/h at 100km/h. More than likely it would make the speedo more accurate. Find someone with a late model car fitted with the factory tyres and see how it compares to their speedo.

I've only got 225/70R15 Desert Dueller 682's at the moment. They're a road tyre and very average in the wet off road- but can be fun in mud. :lol:

I was looking at Wrangler MTR's in 235/75R15 until I discovered they couldn't be legally fitted without an Engineer's approval. :bad-words: So I'm now looking at either a 225/75R15 or 235/70R15 which can be legally fitted as they are under 15mm larger diameter. If you look at tyre specs the real world size varies a lot compared to what's actually labelled on the tyre- so it is possible to get a large tyre and legally fit it.

I've been thinking about the Toyo OPAT tyre, purely because it's available in all the sizes I'm interested in (225/70, 225/75 and 235/70). Plus the 225/75 gives a decent size increase over the 225/70, but is till officially legal. It also got a decent review in 4WD Monthly a while back compared against other AT tyres.

hey dudes... i run 235/75R15 mud kings on mine.. it does great... of course, i had to give my front end a 2 inch suspension lift in order to fit em (via torsion bars). if u want to fit those on there, increase ur torsion bars an ur set man. jus dont make 20 foot long jumps an u should be fine an not have to worry about rubbing... lol.. learned that the hard way.. tires ate my fenders.. wish i had pics of the jumps though.. damn that was hella coo!! i FLEW!! that rocky can fly!

If i wind up the torsion bars wont i loose travel? and make it a firmer ride? I think a body lift would be better if fitting larger tyres say 30' or 31' any more than that and i would have to lift the suspesion which then wrecks front wheel travel. I just want the chunkiest tyres i can with standard suspension and maybe a body lift but i really want to stay standard. so maybe limited to 225/75 or 235/70 :?

yes the ride will be firmer (not that it already is, stock) an u will lose some wheel travel.. cant turn as well or flex as much.. but with a lincoln locker.. not much to worry there.. an its size makes up for the lack of turnin on a dime. so.. its basically up to personal preference... an what u intend to do with it as well.

To make your 31" tyres fit, you WILL need to do a Suspension lift of about 2" and a 2" body lift.

You may also need to remove your front mud flaps as you will have some rubbing on full lock !

30"tyres should be able to fit with 2" body lift only, but you'll probably get some rubbing of the tyres on full lock.

As PV says....you will have a firmer ride and loose some wheel travel, but if you don't wind them all they way up, it will be better.

Before I did a 2" suspension lift Roza had no rubbing problems running Goodyear Wrangler AT/S 235x70x15 All Terrain tyres.

No rubbing, no problems. :) :)

Good enough for a top 10 position at Bathurst. Mind you thats at the Bathurst dogs mate.

I'm happy with them and the only time I've been stuck a set of diff lockers would have helped.

They could be a little more grippy in the wet but then what tyres do grip in the first few minutes of a rain storm.

Really good ride and low noise levels.
