Anybody done it with using the standard 80 series auto that comes behind the 4.5lt? Or is it not good enough?
What sort of cost?

Never did it, but had a gen 3 and cruiser auto in shed at one stage to go into a hilux. After a lot of asking around I came to the conclusion the 80 auto is about as strong as they come- don't bother with t700 only 4l80e or t400 would be in same league.
Talk to Rodney at Wholesale automatics- he's pretty generous with advice. You will need his $800 valve body I think.
Another thing- if the electrics on your box prove to be a problem (can't see why) the pre 93 diesel autos were hydraulic not electric so simple to work with.

Second that with Rodney...he will advise aswell, as he is into doing this stuff and passionate about it.
You will need a marks adapter of course, the factory 4.5 box will handle the power, but the shift kit concerned will get that power to th ground more efficiently
I had an extreme kit in my 240kw 4.5 turbo, worked extremely well
You will need to part time it...the front wheels will spin otherwise and you will loose steering
