Hi guys yesterday had the bus full lock and reversed up a hill and bang from the front.
Now the she only turns to the right and will not go pass center when turning left, got it home interesting only turning right.
Now I know you can take the steering rod off the pitman arm to test if the box is fubar.
I ran out of time to do that yesterday and I'm in borrowed wheels and time today so the question is there anything in the front end that could cause steering resistance if it were broken.
Dont want to get home today with new box and its not the problem.

Sounds like a broken CV not a steering box.
Sometimes the broken bits drop into the lower bearings on the knuckle and bind up in there, sometimes the way the bell breaks can also lock and stop or limit steering.
Thats my educated guess any way after having done many myself.
Backing up a steep hill with front wheels turned puts a s..itload of load on them, particulaly if you have a locker and bang they go........

At a guess I would say the drivers side. Its the one that brakes the most. As the axle if to short to take any shock load.
That doesent mean the other side cant brake first though.
Oh and I have broken pass side CV and a drivers side cv at the same time. Due to reversing and having the locker in on a very loose rocky surface.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY....
When reverseing up hill there is more load on the axle. If the wheels are kept straight they remain being quite strong. Pretty much all cvs would be weaker in reverse backing up a hill.
As for being weaker than anything else I dont know. But mine copped a flogging and I only broke 2 CV's. The first one was unlocked, but lots of steering angle. The 2nd was locked backing up a very steep hill (80-90% of vehicle weight would have been on the front axle) with a probably half steering lock on. Got hte bouces on some loose rocks and it broke.
OH yer both times it binded the steering up. Wouldnt be able to turn both direction unless I backed up abit. Causing a loud bang then I could turn the other way alittle.
