will a defender diff fit
Moderator: Micka
will a defender diff fit
will a defender rear diff fit a range rover and are they any stronger than a range rover one. do they run the same ratio. I have blown 2 diffs up in a week.
If you are talking about a defender rear diff then no i won't fit in a Range Axle, but you could put the whole 110 Axle on and that would be stronger. They are the same ratio.defender kev wrote:Yes they fit,yes they are stronger and yes they are the same ratio
The front Diff out of 110 will fit straight into a rangie (depending on age) diff will fit just what spline the Half shafts are, might mean you will have to change them if not the same. The change from 10 spline to 24 spline.
But they are the same diff.
I have a 300 Tdi 90 and they have the same front axel as a rangie and 110 but the rear axle is the same as the rangie and disco rear (no room on the back of the 90 for a salisbury rear)

When we say diff, we mean the whole axle assembly, so it will fit.aliread wrote:If you are talking about a defender rear diff then no i won't fit in a Range Axle, but you could put the whole 110 Axle on and that would be stronger. 2002 up defenders use the p38 diff hich you dont want unless its cheap.
Early ones will be drum brakes so get a later disc one.
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.
Ah not if you adjust them like my mate in the Uk didMark2 wrote:As has been said, you'll lose clearance with a Salisbury, they're also a lot heavier and its all unsprung weight. But a LOT stronger.
