f250 diff identidication.

Post by andrew e »

Im trying to ID a 2000 mod 6cylTD f250 front diff, I dont know if it is a d60 or d50. The only numbers are on a tag that says

248 4.10 V 2C34 GB - 611299-2

I think it is 4.1 ratio bu dont know anything else

Anyone?

I think only some F350s came out with D60 fronts.

Do you know the inner spline count?

If not, send us a shot of the diff cover and we should be able to pick it for you.

OK, i'm fairly sure it is a D60 center as the site Micka posted states that 248 means 248mm (9 3/4") which is the diameter of the D60 ring gear, So if it has a D60 center, could it have D44 knuckles? i thought only D50s had D44 knuckles, or are a D60 and D50 center the same?

i'm lost and confused help.

Dana 60, high pinion, reverse cut, 35 spline.
