Bob and Damian still running well and having a ball. Currently having power steering problems but should be up and running later today.
Al and Skip doing extremely well with great enthusiasm and a brilliant attitude. They've had a few winch motor problems but nothing that's slowed them down too much.
Jason (Spoony) and Peter (Stirlo) had a lay over yesterday but still going well. Stirlo still grumbling about the mountain goats that have set the stages!!!
Kym and Robert have had a few gremlins. Some winch motor problems but still setting good times.
Chris and Chris have had numerous problems but still smiling ear to ear and still going well. (Despite an engine fire that would have seen most retire.) They've also broken 2 winch housings (one of which was being repaired at breakfast this morning) and they are back out and running today.
Fester and Blake going really well. No major problems and having a great time. (Apart from Fester's broken finger!)
Brad and Anthony are still going despite many, many things going not quite right. Anthony running hard and doing a great job.
Brian and Mick (Sheety) have had a few teething problems with the new truck, mostly fuel related, but still going and determined to finish. Brian is running like a trooper in his first ever winch challenge and having the time of his life. They balance between stages they just finish with car problems to stages they post the quickest times.
Greg and Brent (from Townsville) have had some motor problems with their Ute and had to tow it to Brisbane for repair Sunday night. Made it back yesterday to still finish their last stages for the day. Ran the best time on Mt Killamenavigator night stage last night by 8 minutes and came in smiling.
Shane and Brett (In the farm truck) are steady and reliable. They've had some winch and CV problems. Brett doing really well considering he had major knee surgery 6 weeks ago. A HUGE effort.
Norm and Phil have retired as of yesterday with clutch problems. (They did manage to fix the engine problem from Saturday, but more problems have proved too much.)
Steve and Andy (UK entrant) are proving to be a great team having only met at the start of competition. A few different problems with bits on the truck but determined to repair and keep going. Had a sleep on one of Sunday's stages, but still doing really well. Andy's having the time of his life.

Marc and David (from NSW) are proving to be the battlers of the event. They have had many problems including a lay over and nearly the motor in their car yesterday but have a NEVER SAY DIE attitude and just keep going. (With a smile on their faces - told me yesterday they are having the best time ever.)
Aaron and Pearce unfortunately had to retire yesterday due to engine problems. They've spent most of their spare time keeping the truck going but it's taken it's toll. Would rather not do too much damage so they can run again another day. Staying on base to keep the other competitors morale high.
Weather a bit rainy today. Half the teams on day GPS and the other half doing day stages. Night GPS for half the teams tonight. (GPS had been delayed due to a fire through the course on Sunday.) Half way presentation to be Thursday night at this stage.
Another update after today's stages.
