CITYVIEW 4x4 TRIALS. (NOVEMBER 11th & 12th) [corrected]
Well here it is , the CITYVIEW 4x4 TRIALS , the shake down event to a full four round season of offroad 4wd challenges , generally but not limited to registered road driven vehicles. The Cityview 4x4 Trials will be run over 2 days (11th & 12th NOV) at Brisbane's newest and closest 4wd park , CITYVIEW 8km west of Beaudesert. Our comp track will be used in a tag along format to score drivers and navigators on their abilities , skill and machenery. This is not a speed event or a full blown comp but a test over the same terrain pitting one against the other using a points system and simple rules to detirmine the victors. There are three catagorys:
A) Road Class - road registered road leagally modified (not plated) or std vehicles (ie 1/3 spring travel in lift max , std wheel arches/flares , no lockers/traction aids & tyre size limited so as to not damage arches/flares during competition)
B) Modified Class - road registered modified (incl. plated) or std vehicles (includes lockers , any lift and traction aids but again std wheel arches/flares and tyre size limited so as to not damage arches/flares during competition)
C) Outlaw Class - (generally but not limited to) Road regestered vehicles with any modifications and or traction aids including modified wheel arches/flares and unlimited tyre size.
SCORING - Each run will be completed 5 times , two Saturday afternoon , one Saturday night and two Sunday morning/lunchtime. Deductions for infringements (ie reversing , excess wheelspin , winching etc) will be made from a 6000 point total. There are 6 stages in each run totalling 1200 points , each stage allocated 200 points. The winner is the vehicle with the most points at the end of the trial. Winching / recovery and DNFing stages will only occur point loss so vehicles can continue and or be fixed at the end of each run.
ENTRY FEES - $150 per vehicle/team (1xvehicle 1xdriver 1xnavigator) includes entry to the park , camping and associated park costs for the two days. (Support and service crews not included , std park fees apply.) Maximum numbers apply so please book in early.
SCRUTINEERING - Vehicles are to be presented between 9am and 11am on the day (11th NOV.) for entry safety check. To avoid possibility of failing safety check vehicles can be checked prior to the event by booking on 0424568886. Entry Fee is payable at completion of successfull entry safety check.
* The organiser reserves the right to deny entry for whatever reason and all protests must be in writing which will be presented to a board of 5 associated park members to discuss and decide a favourable outcome at that time. Please remember this is a initial shake down event and there may be logistical problems to overcome for the continuation of the event in the future.
PRIZES - Places 1st , 2nd and 3rd in each class A) , B) and C). Includes trophee , prize moneys (TBA from entry no.s{min. $150}) and various other Prizes. (As supplied from sponsors).

Pete I support another comp and will be competing but what is the go with the way classes are catogerised? My truck has unmodified guards and flares which at a glance seems to mean that I could compete in Modified class?

Just called Pete and confirmed my entry. Sounds like it will be a lot of fun and Im looking forward to it. Sounds like a comp with everything from the stock standard Pajero with Mum, Dad and the kids, to the weekend enthusiast with the twin locked Patrol on 33's through to dedicated comp rigs.
Linc as Pete explained it to me, our rigs will probably be in outlaw class. Modified is more for the modified weekend drivers with Lockers. Built comp vehicles will probably end up in Outlaw class.

Yeah thats the format , Its an event for daily drivers and weekend worriors , classes A) and B) and the more serious comp vehicles , winch trucks and buggies , class C). I dont want to exclude any type of vehicle , that would be unfair to both drivers and spectators. Remember its all about having fun. Having serious vehicles on the track helps but the idea of the event is not to be another comp. It is however an opportunity for the average joe or the mums and dads to have a go without killing themselves or their vehicle and really show how they can drive. Then there is the comp trucks and buggys to put on a show. It will be a cake walk for some areas where the more std cars go , but the options for the outlaw class is going to be tough. You can drive it or chose to self recover over it to avoid breakage (after an attempt of sorts) and just take a detirmined no. of points penalty. It will all be a big show and hopefully a lot of fun for the teams. Please come and help with the track setup , even verbally. The basis is there but I have to add the harder stuff before the event date.

I will not entertain a vehicle with no doors or an unreg cut-up , however the class will allow comp vehicles (trailered or registered and driven) for the wow factor.
