I would just drain a few litres from the tank just to make sure and replace your fuel filter. It cant hurt and you will probably get rid of some crap in it to

drain the tank and see or methio in , id probly go over everything with wd40 or whatever to help disapate the water and help give better connections over leads, dizzy etc give petty lines a good clean out
see how it gose

No idea, if this will help you much, but in the 4wd manual I got with 4wd, it has a bit about a light on the dash showing wheather there's water in the fuel etc.

here's what it got: (2 different filters)

filter 1
1: put a box under the fuel filter
2: loosen the drain valve (butterfly knob under filter) 4 or 5 turns, don't over lossen it may drop, if water doesn't drain properly press priming pump
3: once all water has been drained close drain valve
4: bleed any air from the fuel system

filter 2
1: put a box under fuel filter
2: loosen drain support screw (on top of the filter) and drain valve (under filter) 4-5 turns, again don't over do it.
3: after water is drained, close drain valve (under filter) and drain support screw (on top of filter)
4: bleed any air from the fuel system.

to bleed air out
Move the priming pump up and down until there is suddenly more resistance in the movement.

Got no idea if that will/could help you, but could be worth while checking out.

CWBYUP has a petro engine no fuel/water seperator then fuel filter
you will notice the 1.6 efi EFI stands for electronic fuel injection a diesel has mechanical fuel injection and can run without any electrics but needs good atomization of the fuel where as good atomization of fuel on a petrol is not as important.
When you change your diesel ful filter do it every 5000 with your oil change and it is much easier to fill the filter with diesel first.
If you drown a diesel you have big problems as water does not compress and you may bend conrods a petrol however will just die and it is easier to get it running.

I used to own a sd25 a good little engine but what a slug

INOX is better for electrical stuff, as it repels water real well, but does not conduct electricity.

Metho does wonders, I put some in once a month.

Water shorting out can cause computer to go into a "limp" mode. Even if water has been dried out since. Totally disconect battery, drain residual charge by trying to start it. Then reconnect battery. This often resets ecu.

worth a try, but certainly check fuel system for water...

Well i draine dthe tank last night and cleaned all lines, While i was at it i replaced a few blown globes in the dash.

Now the CHECK ENGINE light is on and i have tried Christover1's idea to reset the computer and filled it up with new fuel and it sounds about 2% better but thats still 97% off where it should be and the engine light is still on.

How do i fuly reset my ECU ?

Other than that i'm skrewed, the plugs and dizzy are good its getteing fuel, its getting air other than a sensor thats let go i'm stuffed. :bad-words:

I want a zuk with a carbie, :bad-words: I hate EFI :bad-words:

Or a diseal.

Thanks for the help guys.

I dont know how sensitive your engine is to this so take it with a grain of salt.

locate all your sensors.... start lowest, with the engine running, unplug it, if the engine changes thats not your sensor. if it doesnt change, chances are that sensor isnt being "seen" by the ecu, clean all the terminals chase the wiring etc and then maybe go buy a replacement.

Thats a really good idea I'll try it and get back to you.

May take an hour or so for comp to loose codes. Pull neg lead and wait, no need to turn anything on.

Only problem with trying each and everyone of the sensors with the engine running is that you will end up with a whole heap of irrelevant codes that will be stored, clouding the waters a bit when you try to actually woirk out what is wrong (usually sends the ECU into limp home mode, ignoring some sensors altogether so not entirely "valid" results). By all means, do the connectors, but do it with the engine off, spraying WD40 or some other contact cleaner on the pins of the plugs and sockets.

Usual way of resetting the ECU is to disconnect the battery for an hour or two. Do this during your "search and discovery mission" on the plugs and sockets, then start it up again ansd see how it goes. It would be really useful to get the service manual to work out how to read the codes (OBD I usually jumpers a couple of pins together and watch the CEL, OBD II needs a code reader)

Well i have tried everything sugested and still no go. I'm going to pull the ECU plugs out and disconnect the battery over night and see if that will reset it.

Otherwise anyone want a cheap feroza if not it will make a good bonfire

Thanks guys.

Do a self diagnosis on the ECU if the check engine light is on.

Some of the pics are missing, murcod should be able to help with plug location and pin numbers if he still has the pictures.

A big thanks to every one for all info i just got back from a test run and its all sweet at the moment. It was a broken wire into the pressure sensor and few tweaks to sort out the sensors ( a good clean ) and it was all good.

Thanks again and Mudcord your website is unreal.
