Body Mount Location

Post by HeathGQ »

Would someone have a diagram or knowledge of the correct location of all the body mounts LWB GQ? I've stuffed up and didn't note which one went where - I have a full replacement set of all 12.

No 4 different ones... 1 set of 6 of the same, then 2 sets of 2 (front two and rear two i assume), and the 2 flat ones for under the cargo area.

Not sure if it helps but on a SWB, the pair at the front are shortest with minimal rubber. These are different to the pair under the firewall (fractionally higher). The pair infront of the rear wheels and the pair at the very back are exactly the same as each other i.e. these rear 4 are different to any of the others.

ummm yeah 2 at the front, 2 at the rear, 6 in the midlle on teh outside and 2 under the rear floor - these are not bolted through the body, just a support for the floor.

To support your arguement for 12 bodymounts, you gave me a link which says and i quote "To make a body lift you need for a Lwb 10 x approx 70mm diam by 50mm long aluminium or steel spacers with a 13mm hole in the middle. Plus 10 of 150 x 12mm bolts, washers and nyloc nuts."

yup.. and 2 dont need other bolts - the ones in the base of cargo area.

" There is a total of 12 body mounts, with 2 under cargo area that most dont bother with."

I had a look under my GQ. The 2 front L&R and the next 2 L&R (almost under your drivers/passengers feet) have steel cups underneath the rubber mount. All the rest have no cups....If thats any help to you....

helps, as yes four of em have the 'metal cup bit' except, there is two different part numbers, and they are slightly different in height... but it narrows it down - thanks.
