We may be saying goodbye to the Discovery as SWMBO wants a "normal" car for running around town in.
This means my Rocky will be doing all the work. (4x4 and camping with me and maybe the twins)
Have a roof rack so not so much a problem on longer trips. But for daytrips, short of removing the rear seat rather than folding it not sure how everyone has the fridge set up.
Any ideas?

Where the Heck do you put the fridge!

How can you not fit it in?? What year mod is it?? I think 88 on they went SSWB, but mines got a fair bit off room in the back. Big army chest sits snugly between the wheel arches, then 52L Esky sits ontop of that, and then have room either side for miscelaneous junk. Thats without folding or removing the seat how bigs ur fridge

Fit an Engel 42 litre in the back of mine and a normal small esky for the non fridgey items (things other than beer). Other items include hotplate and frame, double swag, tarps, camp chairs, camp table, clothes, toolbox, other assorted crap not including the kitchen sink.
With back seat removed there's a reasonable amount of space. Then again I don't have kids so I can do this.
Tell the cheese and kisses that if you have to get rid of the disco for a "normal" car, they'll have to stay home when you go camping with the blokes. See what she says to that....
It's a win win situation.

If it doesn't have two sticks, I don't wana know about it!
I have made a shelf in the rear of mine and i can fit a fair amount of junk also.
We noticed at Stockton that my boot was smaller the Nath's 84 Rocky (didnt we?) I think my rear seats were further back.
I can fit a big Stanley toolbox, air compressor, two of the little can warmer/coolers, jump start pack w/air compressor, misc junk... ohhh and my 12" Fusion Sub and box
Should be easy to do, even without folding the rear seat down

Ahhh the dream...... Now back to reality!
Might have to try, it is a 40L Waeco. Haven't tried
yet as it didn't look like it would fit..... Have to have a go at the weekend!
(The fridge isn't going it has done me very well over the years including several vehicles now!, YES even the Lada!)

40L should fit no worries without touching the rear seat. Unless its got like 6 inches of padding all around Like i said, my Ice box is 52L and it sits on top of a chest thats atleast the same volume of not more.cookiesa wrote:Ahhh the dream...... Now back to reality!
