2.7 efi dual battery ideas...
Anyone got pics of their setups in the 2.7 engine bay..
Would really like to keep the battery out of the tray if I can, but there does not appear to be any room in the engine bay..
PICS PLEASE
And yes I searched.. but none that relate to my vehicle...

What he said!
I just got an 02 lux and got quoted the usual $700 at TJM so I need to DIY!!
Seems like a piece of piss apart from doing the trey up. I still might just buy the trey and install it. They said the fuel filter nees to be lowered and the charcoal canister needs to be moved to the passenger side.
Went to remove the charcoal cannister yesterday to do a test fit and it started grumbling and making bad noises so I did the bolts back up and left it ! Im hesitant to touch it under the hood, my previous vehicles werent very greatful for my DIY efforts.
Cheers

well... I had a good hard look around in there tonight..
The charcoal canister definatly needs to be moved..
But the only place I can find to move it to is on the OTHER side of the engine bay.. between the abs and its relay ...
What a PITA... Really dont want to have to run all new hoses and wiring for the solenoid over to the other side of the engine bay...
Anyone tried squeezing the canister between the body and the original battery...
Going to the usual suspects tomorrow (ARB, TJM) and see where/what they do/recommend ...

Yep just lengten the hoses and wires. I was running the smaller battery as the deep cycle, mainly due to the starter battery being new. I have since changed the configuration with the small battery being the starter.

These are the prices i got from TJM enogerra last week:
battery frame - $135 + $160 fitting
60 amp/hour battery - $150
tjm DBS dual battery system - $295 + $80 fitting
total parts = $580
total labour = $240
Cheapest quote ive got so far, id rather be using the piranha controller and monitor though. they said fitting the trey is expensive as the charcoal cannister and fuel filter need to be relocated. I dunno if I can be arses doing it myself, thinking about getting the trey and trying to get it in myself but as I said before, my car started grumbling at me as a warning when i started pulling it apart

well, I got my tray today, and this evening had a crack at it..
what a waste of time.. and money IMO.. you can only fit a 9" battery AT MAX..
there is actually a heaps of stuff to move... and for me just is not worth it..
I want a BIG 70 or higher size battery.. and the only way to do it is to move the starter to the new location and squeeze a bigger battery in the old location..which needs the main battery cables to be extended.. blah blah blah..
I already have a plastic battery box and 70 size battery that will be bolted into a box in the rear tray..
Not as neat and tidy, but a lot less of a mission..
