I made myself some sliders about a month ago and finally got around to bending up some pipe and adding some extra protection against trees and rocks for the doors. The pipe I added is medium duty 32NB (3.2mm thick). The bender I used I picked up for about $110
Before with just the main slider
After with the step/extra protection
No effect on ground clearance eithier.

They're bolted to the chassis and also to a pinch seam that runs just behind the main rail. In total they have 13 bolts each side
Here you can just see two of the bolts going through the pinch seam. This reduces the stress on the bolts and chassis rail a lot as the arms going to the rail are supported at the very edge of the body on this seam.

The Jeep Cherokee ia a monocoque construction so has no chassis as such, if it did then yep a big no no. Chassis (for want of a better name) and body are all one piece.me3@neuralfibre.com wrote:Is it just me, or does that mean they are attached to the Body and the Chassis. Isn't that a big no no?
Thanx
