QUESTIONS....

Post by SimplyPV »

hey people... i have 2 questions....
1... my check engine light is on an it stays on. before, it would come on for a few mins.. then go off... continously.... now it jus stays on steadily... i've checked oil.. etc etc etc. everything is cool... my oil light never comes on (even if i'm low  ), the engine sounds fine an runs great.. feels great.. could it jus be the o2 senser has gone wack or because of the cracks in the exhaust mainifold? i've been ignorin it for the longest time an its finally gettin on my nerves. when i redo my exhaust, should i take it out or what?

2.... the electric fan... if i decide to install it when i do my body lift.. will i still need to lower my radiator? any help here would be great. thanks

PV your Rocky has a much different EFI system to the Aussie Feroza with all sorts of extra pollution gear and fault lights for it not working. Check on the WARFS site and it tells you how to read the fault codes.

Dubb you could do the same, you may find your engine will run better afterwards. ;)

hi SimplyPV
I have the same problem Ive Read the fault codes and it says EGR Ive had it looked at by a shop and they say O2 senser . if its the O2 its about 50$ from AutoZone if its the EGR i think you can clean them. I havent bothered Changeing anything myself I still get good gas milage and Runns great. I also have a history of haveing Vehicles crap out on me as soon as I start treating them with any type of TLC. I may be that I Buy Vehicles at the end of their life cycle but I still works out that If I just keep the Oil change and Ignore anyother Noises or Lights then it lasts longer then looking in to every problem.
If I wanted to Play it safe I would Have Stayed at home

If it's an EGR fault code this may be of use to you: http://www.mmto.org/~swest/rocky_egr/daihatsu_egr.html

The Aussie Feroza's don't seem to have the EGR system. I'm sure mine hasn't.

KEEP IT!

You'll have all sorts of EFI problems if you don't. It's used to keep the mixtures correct when you're cruising, so your fuel economy would suffer. It will also log a fault code if removed and the computer may go into "limp home mode" and run crap.
