I'm after opinions on what you believe to be a good UHF handheld and also a UHF vechile mount radio.

I have a little uniden handheld with an extrnal mic that is handy for use out of the car and a gme tx 3400 remote head unit that i like, there are some cheaper and better but these suit me fine.
Saddle up tonto, its the not so loanrangie! . 98 TDI DISCO lightly modded with more to come.

handheld= anything 5watt is good for distance etc! any handheld if just close to vehicle!
in car= definatly icom 400pro for value for money and reliability!

i com 1c400pro for the in car and the hand held ... tk338 write that in on ebay and pay 60 bucks + postage from hongkong so around the 120 mark and u wont regret it as i have had mine for just over 6 months now and on an outside arieal in my car can perform as well as my mates uniden in car unit 5 watts out put for both and very sturdy build good battery life has a bench top charger good value for money acts as a scanner can get repeater access can transmitt on any frequency between 400.000-480.000mhz and can listern to all channels in the same range
