Aircon compressor wont stop?

Post by grazza »

Any ideas?

I cant turn my aricon off. Pulled fuses, disconnected the compressor, still wont disengage.

Might be Auto Electrical issue but maybe mechanical.

Its a Toyota compressor on a Toyota V8.

Sounds unusual, but the mag clutch is probably seized - been through any mud lately?

I would definately be taking the belt off before you do any damage to the compressor / ac system.
If it's worth doing - it's worth doing to excess ...

Thanks for that.

I will take it off tonight and have a gander.

It has been up to Cape York recently....

Fixed....smacked it with a hammer a few times (lightly :? ) hit it with the air compressor and liberal amounts of water dispersant.

Works a treat now.

I suspect a but of surface corrosion siezing the clutch on - will keep it lubed up regularly.

Thanks for your help guys - saved me some cash.
