I heard a rumour last night that the event maybe called off, something to do with the property neighbours complaining and the council revoking the permit.

They are meeting with council 2nite as far as i am aware, to listen to the people who are complaining, but aparently council are on our side about it all..... something about dust? but they already have a water tanker organised, and noise..... they defeated that 1 last time i think. feel free to correct me though.

All went okay with council - event is GO.

Had 1 major headache and will still have that headache after the event but we will address this in time.

Please see new post regarding rules imposed.

Sorry no pics here too busy driving.

Overall we got 21st, Friday and Saturday to dry and fast for my trusty old 2F but Sunday saw us take second out right on SS12

Couple of pics of me on SS11 thanks to Johnno, we were last but 2 to go through this stage and as you can see it had turned to gue, but no DNF

Well,

Thanks to the crew who worked so hard to get the event happening and ran smoothly over the weekend!

Hope the competitors enjoyed the saturday night stage, the food and the awesome prizes that were there! over $11,000 in prizes were snapped up by the teams!

We were hoping for more rain prior to the event - but I think that the sunday stages were of a calibre to make rain the last thing on anyones mind!

Big thanks the sponsors, clubs that asissted with marshalling and running things smoothly.

I have only 2 dissapointments for the weekend.

1. Speed signs were there to keep road users help keep the dust down and a part of our strict terms for actually gaining a permit, we had a water truck going and I was driving it Sunday - we saw people drifting, speeding and littering along the road - what disugsting behaviour you diplayed - what a lack of respect! unbeleivable! We now face a fine and a possible ban on events because of your idiocy. Thanks thats just great.

2. The attitudes of those that came late and had to park further away and sooked. We had 4 shuttle cars working for a donation to the Australian Red Cross to assist you and our drivers were getting yelled at! As well as leaving your rubbish in these cars!!

Without the huge support of our clubs members and the clubs that supported us - Gippsland, Goulburn Valley, Yarra Valley, Vic All Terrain (they were great !) events just can't happen!! So when you see these guys say thanks for this year!!

Cheers - see you around - and on 4wdtv again! Did another interview with Simon - a full wrap up of the event will be on later in the year!

I have teeh final scores and will organise this to be up on the vic winch site ASAP

Had a great time, well done to everyone,

Just one complaint-to the people that littered the property along the spectatr area you are all dickheads, through the generousity of someone they have lent their property for our use over the weekend and i know if my property was left looking like a tip-perhaps it was cleaned up in the arvo by someone who certainly would have had better things to do than pick up rubbish, i would think twice about letting us use it in the future.

Have some respect, i hope you don't treat the bush the same, although i doubt it

Firstly - sorry for the crappy images, i hate loading onto photobucket. So i've grouped the pics.

Secondly, What a weekend!!!! Unfortunately my car wasn't done but it was great to see everyone else belt their cars up and not mine being thrashed.

I've also got to say that the P Plate guy driving the Disco put in a great effort. I hear he was only running with a rear locker!!

Gut's drive on his first stage for Sunday was amazing. Driving the whole stage with no winching (still making Daz run 2/3rds of the course) winning the stage by a huge margin. Well done.

Pics are of Stage 12 on Sunday which I ran with the Yarra Valley 4WD club. At the begining of the day times were around 4 minutes. By the end of the day 10 minutes was a good run. On the first corner that you see (in pic 6) cars would hug the tree with pasenger side wheels dropping into the gully. They would then try and drive on to harder ground or winch up there before attacking the second obsticle - a climb out of the slush and up the very steep hill. Those teams that decided to drive the gully got them selves into all sorts of trouble, plenty of dinted panels and a 50 minute recovery as was seen with the third last vehicle of the day...

Thanks to Sandy, Alison and the rest of the on track crew for staging the event.

5 4 3 2 1 GO!
