I'm not sure how dear they are but try Narva...
146mm Headlight housing, which accepts the inserts with H4 Hi/Low globes or just a sealed beam to make it easier still

Along the same lines, been looking a 7" round ones for the zook,
any greater benefits over a sealed than a h4 replaceable one. I can get aftermaket 75/55w sealed for $16 each or replaceable ones are about 70 each from narva.

Main benefit of H4 is the availability of replacement globes and the range of different wattage and colour types.
Every servo and shop has H4 globes, but not many have sealed beams anymore if you get stuck somewhere.
I upgraded my sealed beams to H4 inserts and the light output increased tremendously.. The sealed beams I tried looked very yellow and old.. lol I bought some of them crystal inserts and Tungsram +60 globes. Very happy

By fitting H4 replacement lights you can fit better quality globes and usually get better quality reflectors and lenses than sealed beams.nicbeer wrote:Along the same lines, been looking a 7" round ones for the zook,

You also get to choose your wattage from 60/55 to 130/100watt or even higher. Just be aware that the higher wattages will need relays and heavier wiring and not really legal either.
I use 100/55 so low beam isnt too bright but high beam has some punch.
You can also fit HIDs into H4 housings if you are real keen.

But they are for a Lotus replica... He only wants it to look stockBeastmavster wrote:Sealed way better for lots of water crossings. Even a little bit of mucky water leaking into the H4 housings is near impossible to remove.
Best bet - some 70W sealeds and some good spotties.

I think the question is where can I get housings that look like this,
http://www.birkin.com.au/Birkin_S3_Roadster.php
whether they are sealed, H4 or made from unobtainium.
Sorry I can't help with the answer, only the question.

thanks fellas.
the main thing is that they have adr on them for engineering. it wont be driven much if at all at night, it won't even have a windscreen so how bright they are doesn't really matter etc

Cibie Oscar duals - H4 bulb, which does hi beam and lo beam.
Only halogen bulbs will fit, ie H4 HID wont fit (without cutting)
They be on all early Bushies and on all Dakars in the UK and Europe. Actually they're used on a lot of them crazy kit cars in the UK. Dax for example. No idea of dollars though.

You provided the same link as Bru did, and asked the same question... I still do not know why your post was needed.
Thanks for re-asking the question...lol
Every topic should have one of these
PS - My post would be filled with lots of  if the things were working LOL

This is how I see it,
1.bru needs a headlight in a self contained housing like in the link
2.an option is posted up (not what he was looking for but still relivent)
3. for the next 4 posts the topic gets hijacked into a discusion of the benifits of sealed beam over H4, white light, yellow light and river crossings.
4.you remind people it is for a lotus replica in an attemt to bring it back on topic.
5.topic gets hijacked back to sealed beam V H4
6.I post yet another friendly reminder of the origional question (just like yours) to try and help Bru get some lights for his dads ride
7.bushy provides the information bru was seeking
Good luck with the lights Bru, your dads car looks hot, after finding the headlights for it I hope he gives you a drive.
