alternator mud guard

has anyone made a guard type thing for the alternator to stop mud getting in?

not yet but i have had to make one for the spark unit/coil as i go thru lots of puddles fast.that was simple as used a 2litre bottleand slid her in place.1 screw for insurance.whats that 2cents later!done.alternators need cooling so u need a flowof airso set up a channeled pipe or 2 from front dam or if u have a bonnet scoop like me cut a hole and stick some conduit in then flex exhaust man.hose to area in front of alt.or u could coocoon it in a bottle with holes for belt.not totally waterproof but maybe thick brushes like semis have on their mudguards (smaller version )

it would need the conduit on the rear of the alt, they draw air from rear to front

use a piece of 90degree pvc pipe 6 inch in diamiter then cut the edges to fit past the alternator brackets then use a large hose clamp around the alternator then the the pvc and im goin to make a plastic / tin shield for the front to further limit the muds penetration
