mate don't wate your time with a top mount, especially in the tropics. unless you get the cooling airflow right, chances are it will become a heat sink for the motor to shed excess hotness into your intake air stream. suck it up and build a front mount, or go water to air.

Go water to air all the way that way you can run a thermo on the intercooler radiator and have full cooling at all speeds, good for crawling

I have a top mount and it gets rather hot. The intercooler does not make much difference to the engine temp rising!!

Go front mount.

i am going top mount to on my nissan.

i am not a fan of water to air, to many things to go wrong.

i have a big bonnet scoop and will put a thermo on the cooler also to get more air thru it. going to setup some sort of sprayer system to spray water onto it.

wanted front mount but will not fit, and i get the feeling a front mount on 4wd will get replaced pretty often.

Im setting up a turbo and top mount i/c on my 3.0l B BJ40 atm.

Im going top mount for now as i got the i/c cheap but really just untill i can save for a water to air setup. i/c will have large bonnet scoop and a thermo, not that it will cool it much, but just to help stop heat soak at very slow speeds.

I should hopefully be finished in a week or two and ill post up some pics.

You say your not a fan of water to air because there is to much to go wrong. Yet you are going to do a setup that has just as much that will go wrong.
Go figure.

not to familiar with hilux engine bays but you might be able to use a shorter fan. i had to use a 60series 2f fan to gain about 80mm to fit the cooler where the radiator was. the rad is now mounted off the back of the cooler.
