GU Turbo Manifold Dimensions

Post by sootygu »

I was hoping someone would have the dimensions for the turbo flange from an original GU 4.2 exhaust manifold.

Needed are the bolt hole and internal pipe dimensions.

Cheers

Here is the one i did for my TB45. It fits the TB42, TD42, TD42T and TB45 engines, but i believe the ports may be slightly bigger for the TB45, (compared to the holes in the diesel head) but this shouldn't matter.

You can download the dxf file i have for it if you have a CAD package.

Note the manifold is drawn with slightly oversize ports compared to the head. ie from memory the cylinder head ports are 38mm wide x 40mm high, and the flange is drawn at 40mm wide x 42 high. (This is also how Nissan have sized the exh manifold ports larger than the ports in the head.)

If you do measure the TD42 port sizes, let me know what they are.

This is the reason i think the diesel manifold ports are smaller. This is a photo of Denco Diesels high mount for TD42 patrols.

Thanks for the drawing.

Thats a fair bit of work you have done, I take it you use autocad for work purposes.

How are the mods going, how close are you to being finished.

Yeah, I am a Mechanical Engineer, so i have plenty of experience with AutoCAD, Proengineer and IronCAD 2D & 3D Modelling packages. Turbo installation is nearing completion. I am going to hold off on the intercooler fitment for a while. Maybe get some ideas and mull over it for a while.

Why do you want a drawing of the flange. ? Are you contemplating fabricating a manifold.?
