1988 Jackaroo - Any good ?

Post by Andres »

A mate is offerning me his 88 petrol Jackaroo for $3000. Its in pretty good nick body wise, not sure of the ks its done though. (For now i'll assume they're sub 200,000). I'd only keep it for 1-2 years max.

What are they like for touring/light duty 4wding?
Anything to look out for specifically?

(My alternative is spending the equiv money on a 60series 'cruiser)

Thanks fellas

Depends what mechanical condition it's in I suppose.

A mates got a petrol one, 2.6lt. and he gives it a damn hard time off road but can't kill it. He doesn't care though he got it cheap to do just that: Give it a hard time and having fun.

Found some more info...

264,000ks
Body is essentially in top nick. No bad rust etc.
5 speed - 2.3 litre

So in good nick, but reletively high ks.

Asking 3000-3500.
