lol while all of u guys r payin out of ur azzes for extractors.. i'm going to get mine custom buillt, hand made!!! its gonna be sweet.. now pls get the info right for the feed to the pipes.. is it 4-1 for top in power an 4-2-1 for torque an which is better? it seems the rig has enough torque as it is already. so maybe a bit more top power... lemmie know. thanks

Hmm...I guess that I was thinking of the package of information that I ordered from Headers by Ed. It states: By building longer headers (tube lengths at least 34”) he can improve bottom and mid-range performance or by building shorter headers (tube lengths between 28-32”) he can emphasize top end power.
Anyway, I looked at the Lukey headers at breaktime and they ARE made with compression bends and I attached a picture.
I stand corrected...nay I bow my knee before the council of the Elf lords of Feroza in the fair land of Oz; and humbly beseech the council's forgivness in my hasty statements. As a ranger in the evil lands to the west and across the sea where few are loyal to King Daihatsu, I still seek to destroy the minions of the dark lord Detroit in the service of our King. It is my wish that the council would consider my apololgy and allow this knight of the west to remain in good standing...my precious.
Thanks for thinking that I am a bit of a guru Andy...and quite mental.

Got my extractors from Carline in Gladesville. $600 fitted with Lukey muffler and 2" exhaust. No flex. They were going to charge $200 for a flex retro fit
I wasn't happy with the result as Roza had a bad vibration and no seemingly increase in power.
However since then the clutch has been replaced and the flywheel machined which got rid of the vibration and the timing was advanced 3degrees as per the manual ( Thanks David ). Amazing what that extra advance did. Evan cured my fuel problems.
Now Roza is a s smooth as and is going like wet Sxxt off a shovel.
Not goin to worry about fitting a flex and can reccomend the Hurricane brand of extractor.

Hi Leon
How much did the hurricane headers cost alone
If anyone dosen't know, hurricane headers r made by Liverpool exhaust .
I tried emailing them about a month ago but didn't get a reply but that seems 2 happen a bit with my email.
Does your roza sound better then ones fitted with genie or MRT headers
When I do my exhaust it will be either luckey or hurricane headers with a 2 1/4 inch sports exhaust

2.25" is huge for a 1.6l engine! You may actually lose some power- the idea is to keep the exhaust gas velocity high.
Why are you only looking at getting Lukey or Hurricane headers??? Lukey sound good with their high temp coating, but not being mandrel bent isn't the best.
David
I was told by an exhaust specialist that a 2 1/4 inch would work realy well on the feroza and wont affect down low torque. I was told by another exhaust shop that I'd gain 15-20% more power with lukey headers and sports exhaustrocknferoza wrote:

The guy I bought my coil suspension kit off was running a 2 1/2 inch exhaust on his feroza I call that overkill. In alot of the performance mags You'll see alot of blokes running 2 1/4 inch exhausts on engines smaller then the feroza like a Mitsubishi Mirage which has a 1.5 litre engine.
Anyway I wanna be different and I want a real sporty note

When I got my new exhaust, I ask the exhaust Guru that I wanted a 2.5" system with a free flow muffler and he said that there wouldn't be much difference than what a 2" would do so I settled for the 2" anyway , it sounds and goes well

Thanks for the info. I've seen some stories on Lukey headers fitted to the Gen III V8 Commondores with good gains. The length of the collector pipes also has a lot to do with power gains- from Kent's pic it appears they are good crush bends too. There's "crush" bends and then there's "crushed" bends..... I've seen some shockers over the years, others are almost as good as a mandrel bend.
Do you know what size pipe the headers finish going into?
Check out the exhaust site I posted earlier too- there's some good reading on there: www.magnaflow.com
