building a 85 l200 ute has 90mm cab lift shortned tray and custom gards just it wired up today and started runs good but turn the key off and it keeps on running can enyone help me figure it out its a 2litre petrol :cry:

Put a multimeter or a test light on the positive side of the coil while the key is off. If there is power there then you need to change the wire so the power comes on and off with the ignition side of the key.

Does your carby have a fuel cut-off solenoid?

I have heard of alternators causing this, no power at coil with key off but after running the alt back feeds the coil
