stock zooks seem to be a rare beast in my experiences

cutz n welds for wheel arches etc.
firewall area has been moved back 25-30mm
headlight bucket cut to max.
The rolled down bit on side has been flattened.
And the inner guard lifted 5-10 mm, as well as all "bumps" removed.
The area around the firewall/side sill area is being left unfinished, as some slider.sill strengthing is being done laterer.
just needs a lick of paint and some tyres fitted.

The wheel arch cutz are now all painted and pretty.
But boy do those 30's look tiny, now, in those huge wheel arches
He has got to wait for the rims to be offset, then bunnings flares to suit, and then the ET's go on.
There may be a need for a small bumpstop extension, this is to be worked out in real action, rather than in workshop.

I seen it in da bush 3 times now.
Better come on his trip this weekend.
It sure goes as good as it looks.
Doesn't look like he'll have his offsetted rims back before then, so he may still be on his 30's.

the cut gaurds look great, did you 'trim' any of the body sill at all for the wheels when they're on lock, or just the front bucket area?

yes and no, the firewall/sill area has been split at the join, the wall is pushed back about 15-20mm, as well as the lips flattened, but the sill bit will be modded later, when slide rails are fitted.
He is using rears up front, so not much rubbing goes on there, anyway...he actually moved front diff back 10mm, to ease front bucket issues, without too much issue at the firewall.
DCP-0005 shows this if you look real hard.

Joey n me sneaked off to Warburton (VIC) Sunday morning for a test drive, to measure/check the new Simex ET 32" tyre clearances. That was all good, just a new fan is needed on the auto cooler.
Didn't get too gnarly as nearly everything around Cemetery tk is either closed permanently, made into a 2wd road, or seasonally closed. Even the "carpark" at the bottom of Cemetery is been closed off.

Is a good chance he'll be there, barring unforeseen events..
I wanna see it in real action, too, rather than todays pose session
I should be there, too, testing the power steer on those rocky tks down there.

I got loads and loads of pix.
Owner won't let me publish some, but I do have quite a few.
Is it only engine related pix you'd like, as it has heaps of mods.
All the pix disappeared from OL during some revamp.

I suggest I start posting them here, then your questions can be addressed, and others may benefit, too. I can then limit pix to what people need.

I can answer general questions, but high tech stuff is for the owner to address.

I'll get onto this soon.

what gearbox did you guys use, and did it go to a sierra transfer with custom mounts? how long is it from the front of the motor to the end of the gearbox/transfer.

has a SR20 been adapted to any type of zook gearbox before? ie vit or sierra?

This time round he used a stock sr20 auto.
Being a lwb this time there was more room.
It is using a stock sierra t-case, with custom mounts. Its much higher and further back.

In his previous swb zook he used a hybrid manual box which I believe was mostly stock sr20 with a skyline rear housing???
This was very short, but t-case had to be moved slightly.

I can't measure anything, sorry, too hard to catch up with the bloke.
Rear tailshaft is approximately same legth as swb rear shaft.
(he set it up so both front and rear shafts are identical, better for spares etc, with a centre bearing set up from a ?yota)

I persnally don't thing the sierra box would cope with the grunt, but don't have any facts.
