2006 td42 exhaust performance

just an enquiry from a mate who bought a 2006 td 4.2 with factory exhaust .He s wanting to know will after market exhaust get him better performance if so what would you reccomend hes thinking 3 inch pipe straight thru any ifo much appreciated regards mick

Yes it would, all factory systems are quite restrictive.

Even try the EXHAUSTFIX thread and ask

there was a GU Dynoed the other week with just 3inch exhaust and 3inch dump pipe mods, and gained 10kw.

If he is that unhappy, speak with a diesel expert about 'powerups' usually round $1400 which will gain him around 35%

a mate had a "taipan XP" exhaust system fitted and tuned to his unit and was very impressed with power gains achieved.
I believe they are on the hi-way around the northern end of the gold coast
