ok this is the rear end of a nissan patrol safari alternator
what i want to do is take the rear end off (the pump) and use the alt with out it (i don't need it)
so will there be any damage done to it by doing this i know putting some kind of end plat on would be better but is it needed

i see can i just cut that shaft off grease that bearing and put a flat plate over the back and silicone around the shaft area to keep the grease in?
