Big Thanks

Post by Not For Highway Use »

Dan here car 40 the "Ugly Truck" crappy green GQ wagon. I had an absolute ball. We left the weekend with one straight panel. Really enjoyed the fast stages friday and Saturday. Fell in a heap on Sunday, we had never used the PTO or Plasma. PTO rocks, need thicker rope.

A special thanks to Caro, Gary , Paulo, Sandy, Al and the rest of the Ontrack 4WD Club. The work these guys put in was amazing and there is still more to come with enviromental stuff. Also thanks to all the people that helped out with the event.

I would like to thank Sandy, Alison and the whole On Track 4wd club for putting on a Great event! Plenty of hard work went into getting it together and running it so well.

The marshalling was good, the crowd was good, and the competitors were all friendly and the stages were a lot of fun!

This was my first vic winch and certainly wont be my last!

I was in car 13 (the black shorty) so if anyone has some pics, please email them to peterbutcher@netspace.net.au

the car went well, after having a sticky throttle which became scary at times, we made some repairs and it was better. Nothing was broken (mechanically) and only a couple of minor dints. Although the alternator needed a rebuild, winch needs cleaning, and gearbox, transfer, and rear diff oils changed. Other than that, all was good.

thanks to all involved and a special thanks to Greg at Smithies Outback Gear, Dave (my navi) and my mates, because without their help, i wouldnt have been there.

Finally, I have manged to sort through alot of my photos, just a bit time consuming on an old pc.

Some competitors i dont even have photos of so sorry if i havnt got you because i tried to move around or if I did get you and your not on there its because i didnt get a good shot.

I actually ran out of memory on sunday which was quite fustrating i know for next time.

Damn bog hole gave me a nice hole in the shin!
Took a tetanus shot and a week of antibiotics to stop the infection, still not healed!

Not to mention the damage on Hottie's car. 3 belts came off when we hit it.
Alternator died, radiator was blocked solid, winch solenoids crapped themselves.

Hookers are like bowling balls, You pick them up, put your fingers in them, then throw them in the gutter and they come back for more.
