economy of a v6 commo conversion?

I was get about 19l per 100kms. I was running big tyres but the diffs were geared as though driving on 31's. Hope that helps

hmmm, the bloke reckons he's getting 12-13 per 100k....
thought that sounded a little wrong. is there any chance of improving it (not using lpg) via injection etc? or is lpg the only way to go really? right now in my 4runner 2.4 deisel im getting about 11litres to 100k wih 6 inch lift, 33's, and stock diffs but looking to upgrade to a newer truck and this came up rather cheap...so if it IS possible to reduce fuel consumption....then im very keen to get it, but being a uni student, the funds are tight hehe.

i'd probably stick with the diesel - it would have better fuel consumption anyway. The only way you could get better consumption than a 2L 2.4D is a zook

I have a Nissan Dual cab with a VP motor and auto in it and have been dissapointed with the fuel consumption and acceleration. Rest of the vehicle is fairly standard, except 31 inch tyres, standard diff (4.875) and even nursing it I average 21 or 22lt per 100km. I've tried cold air injection, no air filter, hyclone, but thats the best I can get. I suspect the auto kills some of the acceleration and economy, maybe if it was manual it would be acceptable. My solution was dual fuel, still get 22lt per 100km, but at least 66lt of gas only costs me $31.00 and now the conversion is basically free.

ok i drive a commodore ute (ecotech) and i have been having economy problems with it. solution, fuel pump and crank angle sensor were screwed. got them both replaced aswell as fuel filter and i am getting 650 (highway) a tank again

The day before I sold my Bundera V6 I did an economy run so that I could tell the new owner what the fuel consumption was like as it needed a sender unit.

For anyone that knows the area, I did a dash from Murwillumbah to Etham (engineer), back to Currumbin (safety certificate) and back to Murwillumbah via Tomewin (lots of hills). I returned 13.5 on this run which was just on 300KM!

It was VP motor, Toyota 5 speed and 4.88 diffs and 33" tyres.

And yes, off road it used heaps more, but it was a hell of a lot of fun and I do miss it.

I've got a VP motor, R150f 5 speed, 4.3 diffs and 35" tyres in my Hilux. I don't keep a close eye on economy, but I think 15L/100km would be it's best, and more typically it's around 17L/100km.

Luckily I only drive about 8km to work, so it doesn't worry me too much, and it goes a lot better than the old 2.8 Diesel.
