Ok I am currently having my stock carby rebuilt due to the choke having never worked. Turns out, according to Mechanic, that the person who had their hands on it before me had put two adaptor plates stuck together with the carby on top preventing coolent reaching choke. Now Mech wants to have one plate welded up and a new hole drilled in right place to meet up with Carby (for the coolent). I don't know much about Carby's and have never seen a Zuk one in bits, so my question is should there be only one plate that matchs carby and inlet manifold? Does the channel on the plate (coolent to carby) serve a purpose? I have checked the FSM and found nothing specific on it so any help would be appreciated.
P.S. He has just told me that he wants to remove a solonoid on the side that he reckons is for air con kits...I think my carby may be newer then the car (1990 WT) if that's the case???

Stock Carby To Inlet Adaptor Question
Hey
Not sure on why its there as such but there should only be one there. Could be that it runs down to the inlet manifold to warm for the carb?
Solinoid on the front is from aircon i think. ( your carb could also be from a swift.
