I've seen a few back in 2001 when I was down in WA for a couple of weeks. Wonder how long they've been on the market in Oz, which engines and is there any aftermarket parts for these in Australia ? The chassis is 99.5% off the first gen. Pathfinder / Terrano with only minor changes.
This is mine:
'04 Terrano 3.0Di with the ZD30, 2" lift and 265/70-16's
Is this Terrano IIs are worth buying? Dont tell me if it is cheap, buy it. How are theirs off road performance? Do they have a factory fitted LSD or open diff? How are they on road?
As far as I know all terranos were rear LSD equipped but you'd have to check your local market's specs. Manufacturers vary so much from country to country....
As far as I know they all have the LSD rear end. I did 50.000 km's in mine the last year, everything from fast highway (top speed with the ZD30 and bigger tires is 190 km/h @ 4500 rpm redline), country roads of all kinds and a few thousand km offroad. In stock form the suspension is a bit low and underdampened. Get some stiffer shocks, I recommend Trailmaster (the european ones, not the US ones) and you're set for most conditions. They're pretty reliable and can follow a stock Patrol nearly everywhere when the driver knows how to handle the IFS.
