Vitara front tow point

Post by Sandgroper71 »

G'day all
I got a LWB Suzuki Vitara 92 model
Just wanted some info from Suzi People is it ok to use the front stock tow point its welded but not sure can you snatch or tow from

If not where can I put a recovery point on the front ?

And on the rear I got one of those tow hooks but I can't get the nuts on the bolts as I can't get into the frame rail inside to put them on so do you think its ok without the nuts as it threaded on tight into the frame rail 2 bolts holding it in

cheers
Ben

hi if your talking about that front tow loop (looks like a peice of steel wire in a loop welded to the chassie) then no i wouldnt tow of it as they break off, there supposed to be a "tie down point" for when the car is on a boat etc. for the front of mine i got a peice of plate and welded 3 nuts to it and had that inside the chassie and then the chassis and then on the bottom another plate with three holes (two for the hook) and the end one for keeping the plate in place use high tensile bolts so the hook doesnt come off and smack you in the face ;) i had to grind my nuts down as there is a peice of tube inside the chassie that you have to slip the nuts under. sorry i dont have any pictures  good luck!
