ct20 intake on a 3l

Post by 93lux »

Righto I have finally put my CT20 on my 2.8d and all is going pretty well except for the turbo intake and boost pipes. I have scrapped the idea of intercooling for the time being. What do all you guys use for the plumbing, I was thinking 2 inch exhaust tubing from the turbo to the inlet manifold. Any pics would help

Cheers

I think my mate runs 3in just to the back of the cab sounds sweet but he's running a bigger turbo than the ct20 also being turbo'd it doesn't need back pressure so i'd make it to big rather than to small
plenty of parts on the bench

try hunting around the wrecks for all that plumbing off a surf. mine runs all the plumbing off one. I am considering getting wider pipes though. This would help up performance a bit?

bastard,

Did it bolt on without any mods. The reason I ask this is because I was toying with the idea. Have you got pics.

I cut a bit off one of the pieces from the turbo to the manifold, but nothing major also i didnt have air con ,but if you did it would be tight but ive seen photos of other after market turbos and thats how they are.Ive had mates bend up stuff at the exhaust shop and it wasnt much chop, not only that those little peices of orange rubber that connect those little peices of pipe together are ridiculously priced and they come in the kit, from memory that hose stuff is about 180 a meter and lewis hoses and seals have a minimum buy of one meter.

You talking about silicon intercooler hose? If so, rocket ind. sells 2.5" diameter for about $90 a meter.

If your using a CT20 you can buy the factory TD surf intake hose from toyota that will let it fit around the aircon compressor.
