SWB to LWB differances ? What to look for.

Post by CWBYUP »

Well I have a swb spoa 91 zuk. I also have a 84 ? LWB chassis and was thinking about changing it all over.

What do i need to look for ? Will the body mounts line up ? It will be cut down into a ute and is a soft top.

Any one done this before ?

If they are both 1.3 then either way it will work, all body mounts line up. Can't be 100% sure for 1 litre stuff as i've never done it but i'm pretty sure you would be right with them too.

The 1 litre and 1.3 litre engine mounts are different though, so you may run into problems there.

You will need a LWB tailshaft (or custom) and a LWB handbrake cable.

Vitara engine into a 1.3 chassis, just keep the engine mounts.

Vitara engine into 1.0 chassis you will have to cut them off and weld on new ones.
