1.3 sierra rebuild OR vitara 1.6 carby converstion ????
My bet would be the 1600.
Not sure on the cost difference, usually a reco motor that you get and kits are common among the specialists, can even buy the kit and do yourself.
Downside is it usually requires an engineering approval.

Not 100% but I'm pretty sure that you'd be better off going the efi engine if that was your plans; the stock computer should handle a low amount of boost but an aftermarket management system would be able to handle more. I wonder how much boost the engine can actually take physically though - probably not much more than the stock computer couls handle, I'd imagine.abundance84 wrote:Say you go the 1.6L carbie, how easy is it to turbo?
I remember reading somewhere that it wasn't easy to turbo a carbied motor - either you have to build the carby to handle boost if you run the turbo before the carby. Then there's also the issue of not being able to fine-tune the carby like you can with efi anyhow.
There's someone in the daihatsu section who recently turbo'd a feroza and he's using an aftermarket engine management system. He seems pretty cluey (his setup looks schmick) so if you've got any specific turbo questions you might want to find him.
