Currently got a 1 litre lwb,with a 2 inch spring lift and on some 30 inch muds with 4.1 gears.Now im wanting to fit some 33x12.5,s on some big offset rims,prolly 8inches at this stage.Am on a tight budget,so am not interested in spending any more on suspension,shackles etc.Will a big guard chop be enough to clear the tyres,or would 32,s be the maximum?The diff is standard location,have got some 4.55's going in also,am hoping i will still be geared about the same if not a bit lower than before.Basically trail only rig,so not too worried bout looks,just want to keep the very tops of guards if possible,to attach flares to.Is this possible or will i need more suspension lift.?I have also cut the rocker panels off,and hammered the seems back.
id say if you do a very comprehensive guard chop, something like heath has been doing to his coily you might be right. Personally if you want to fit 33's id be doing virtual and then some extended shackles. I no you said you didnt want them coz ur on a tight budget but you can make some for about $10! Also suggest you get the tyres you want to run and play until you get them to fit..all 33's are different sizes (slightly) so make sure yours will fit.

I think you will have to move the front diff forward. either by redrilling the spring perches or doing a ruf. good luck with it, Im hoping to achieve similar when I do a virtual lift. you might be better off getting a narrower tyre to help them fit. simex 32/9.5 and 32/10.5 both measure a bit over 33 from memory. other options are swamper 34/9.5 which measure the same actual height at the pede.

I ran 33" x 9.5" old style BFG Muddies on my 1l SWB. It had longer home made shackles, and 2" lift. It also had the inner wheel tubs smoothed, and the tubes in the front of the front wheelhouses removed.
You won't need longer bumpstops, as the tyre is a perfect fit, and rubs on the firewall and top of the wheelhouse all at once. On the rear, you have to watch that the tyre doesn't rub on the fuel filler neck.

Won't work cause.....
33x12.5x15 on huge offset rims will scrub everywhere in a big way.....You will need tube clip to make it work but still have to cut into the firewall in a big way cause of the turning arch of the tyres on the offset rim.
Also a 12.5in tyre on a huge offset will chew bearings extremely quickly. instead of a 12.5in tyre look at a 10.5 on an 7in rims instead of 8in.
I have fitted 34/10.5/16 on 16x8 with a RUF 2in spring and 2in body with lots of cutting on the front and some on the rear......

Thanks for the feedback everyone,sounds like i might be a bit ambitious,so will go run some 285/75/16 bighorns instead.Still with big offset,on some 8's.Whats the generall consensus,on the 1 litre diffs,strength wise,cause with,better clearance,better gearing,lighter weight and only 2 inches narrower Than wide track, i reckon they rip!!
