That is awesome news for Sam, especially since he hasn't shoehorned his fat arse into a buggy all year

As for an Aussie taking out first next year...there was a massive gap in points from the top 3 to the rest of the field. I think that an Aussie podium with an Aussie rig is a long way off.

Full credit to all that competed.

Remember that Pete is doing UROC Supercrawl too. I think he will improve on his performance for that.

What a Blast

Post by Tuff Events »

What can i say.... What an experience........

Thanks heaps to Sam & Tony... Great work on making this happen for all of us.........

Thanks to Tazz, for all of his support throughout the year... Top effort thanks heaps......

To all the Aussies teams... I think nervs got the better of all of us...
The courses were very tuff, especially for the pro mods... Well done, some mad flips & rolls......

I rolled in my 1st event, purely because I am not used to the vehicle or its new suspension system...
Your probably thinking that it would be the same as my black buggy, Well thats what i thought till I drove it, absolutely nothing like it.... Reacts to just about everthing differently..... More seat time is the key....

We had some real dramas leading up to and during the event, testing the new suspension system in competition for the 1st time was not the best decision I have ever made, but the responce I've had from its release at SEMA hopefully will make up for the minor problems I had with it...

Damn Bloody Big Block Chev... What idiot would have ever considered putting one of these in a moon buggy....  I knew I would have had some heating issues, but never imagined them to be this bad..
I am trying to solve this before Supercrawl........ We'll see how it pans out.....
I must have used 5000 litres of water out the the dust control water tanker to try to keep it cool........

I have found a new thermo fan that pulls 3985 CFM.... which is a massive improvement on the 2100 CFM fan in it now...... and it will bolt straight in..
I will also be trying a coolant additive which i do not currently use...
Hopefully this will be enough to keep the big block cool & also save me $$$ on putting a small block in it... also Supercrawl is over 2 days not just one, so the stages will be a little more spread out time wise...giving it a chance to cool down..

Cheers
Pete

Chiming in kind of late on here about the Worlds but I want to give the entire Aussie team kudos on doing a kick butt job coming to America.
Holy snappin' dooley! Peter did a climb that kicked some solid tail.
Dave knows how to launch skyward.
Sean knows how to roll like a pro, but his jump from the rig was fun to watch.
Sam kicked tail and actually was just 5 points off finishing 2nd in Unlimited.
After taking a look at the equipment that came to the US. You aussies are on the right track with your equipment. I am really looking forward to making the trip down under next year. Also, if any of the teams would like to answer some questions, give statements, or would like a copy of my magazine when it comes out send me a message. Also, who covers W.E.Rock Austrailia? I need to buy a subscription to their magazine.
