Mine is built from part of an old fibreglass top, filled in with marine plywood and supported by aluminium cross braces. Behind the seats is also this way. My tub is bobbed 8 or 9 inches.

This ones almost factory, with a Maruti back and top bit, with a steel wall behind seats. (bobbed tub also)

If I have a lwb like you that has a ute conversion. Im going to turn it back into a soft top for practicality reasons. Ie it will be a ute when I want it to be and for camping ill have the space of a normal lwb. imo ute conversions look cool but not the most practical if you have lots of camping gear and want to keep it dry. im thinking of doing something like this. but putting a zipper on it so a full length soft top attaches.Image

my bet is no chopping required. looks like a fiberglass canopy. I looked into getting one but apparently they are very heavy, and they dont look very sexy.

I've got a soft top like the one on the dark blue on up a couple of posts and it's awsome!

It's more water proof then my hard top and looks way better! But if i get the itch or a nother daily driver then i will probably go tray back!
Built swb sierra, building a lwb sierra ute and have a dmax for family camping
