Is it difficult to change/ repair a head gasket on a 4runner

Post by 4runnerjo »

Head Gasket blew after a heater hose poped. The car has a 4y motor and is still driving ok considering it has a blown head gasket. Is it alot of work to change a head gasket without a mechanic? Or should i leave it to a professional?

If you get a gregorys or the likes of manual you can do the job your self
I think you will find the head will need welding on the rear water ports
This is the most common area of corosion and blown head gaskets
