I'm baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaacccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk..
What a pisser, I'm wrecked.
1st Krimnal and Kevy. Well done boys. Good spirited and good competitors.
2nd Todd and Ivan. Lucked out with a DNF on one stage but played hard all weekend. Well done guys.
3rd Paul and Shane. These guys ran neck a neck with us all weekend but piped us by a bees dick in the end.
Am a bit dark on my self cos my penalties cost us dearly. But the Lil' mule went faultless all weekend and proved what a reasonably standard vehicle can do. The big yellow bus Launched, lurched, leapt and screamed all day and night.
The stages were great, fantstic country side. The property owner is great and the orange juice in white cliffs is ridiculously expensive!!!!
There were some political issues and organisational faults that mared monday's competition but hopefuly these are teething problems that will be sorted out for next year.
All in all i'd have to say get ya bums there next year. It's an awsome comp with great potential if it's steered competenty.
When i get a chance i'll upload some piccies and give more of a report
But for now i can tell you i am officially in training for the OBC 2007... I'm there dudes!
On a finishing note.... GOOOOOOOOOOO GUIDO!!!!!!!!!!!!
Edit.. I forgot.. it was VERY Remiss of me.... A want to pass on a BIG BIG thanks to all the marshalls who turned up, gave up there time to attend, stand in the heat and get abused by us... THANKS GUYS AND GIRLS....
As far as an indecent proposal goes, I'd accept nothing less than $100,000 to tolerate buggery. Any less and it's just not worth the psychological trauma.
Awesome event, we had a ball and learnt heaps and heaps from the more experienced dudes, what an awesome bunch of blokes!
Apart from ripping the high steer arm off the top of the knuckle and DNFing that stage we finished everything and did better on the nav and winching stages than the high speed stuff, but that will improve heaps.
I've got some wicked footage which I will try to cut down and post up a small clip, the rest you can catch on 4wdtv. The footage of KJ's car from Geelong is awesome, he was trying to get up a near verticle river bank and just kept punching it, awesome drive!
P.S. As for Guido, thanks for scarring me for life dude! Every time someone mentons Guido all I remember is his brown eye out the window of the GQ and rubbing his nuts at the same time.......I needed councelling after that! But thanks for the laughs all weekend dude you were a pisser!
Thanks to Rudi and Hobzee for a great event, thanks to the marshalls for putting up with us and thanks to the other competitiors and spectatrs for the good times , to those who didn't make it there make sure you go next year it's worth it!
Finally thanks most of all to our sponosr Mannell Motors for supporting us and helping us get the truck ready and now fixing it in time for Woodpecker in two weeks time (it's time to shove the rockcrawler gears back in and go large! )
Cheers, Beretts

Ok i've a bit more time so i'll give you all a quick run down. Left home friday morning. Chris got to my joint an hour later than we agreed. Good start!!.
Ten hours later we were driving down the Cootawundi "driveway" heading for camp. Friday night was a bit of a meet and greet affair really, with only the formalties of paperwork and a quick briefing.
Saturday morning we were straight into the action. We were divided into our classes and sent to relevant stages. First up was col's boulders. A quick sprint over some big rocks then a hard left up an undrivable rocky hill...
This was my first ever winch event as a winch bitch, and those of you that know me will know that i'm built more for comfort than speed so i was a tad nervous. Butterflies in fact. But in the end i was happy with our result.
Next a quick blast down a creek then onto a nav stage for the afternoon.
Saturday night was a quick, and i mean quick, balst down a sandy creek bed. Man.... Cars were coming in with underbonnet fires from the heat, manifolds and turbos glowing red, bright red. But that was awsome fun. Lil' mule pulled one out of the bag there and shamed some turbo petrol weapons.
Day two was equally as good. Down the sandy creek to a winch wall of sand. You know the drill, break down the wall with your ground anchor then winch up it. Then back to camp, whip the sump off and straighten it over lunch.
Then up the creek to a short moto khana run then onto another winch up a rocky outcrop.
The evening seen us take to the paddocks at speed finding way points. I embaressed my self here with us finding all the nav points in a blinder of a time (top three for sure) only to realise i didn't mark home and we didn't know where the finish point was..DOH!.. We still came home in a respectable 4th though. Then back to the creek for another blast in the opposite direction to t he previous night.. once again another good time.
Day three was a windscreen breaking 25 km run down a tree lined creek. We ripped our GPS aerial off the roof so struggled to the fininsh but got there. The afternoon was a let down with alot of standing around (5hrs) in the blistering hot sun. A quick nav run.. then a loooooooooooooong wait for lunch to be delivered then onto another motorkhana style event around a small rocky hill. No night stage on monday night plenty of bullshit though! And a good slide show by Danni.
Tuesday (last day) was a ball breaker... First thing was a winch up the "White Cliffs" This is where i bodged and got us two penalties.. i was cut!!
Last stage of the comp. Another winch wall in the creek but with a twist. Class C cars were there first. Here's the scenario. We were given a length of creek bank maybe 100 metres long. We were able to choos the place we wanted to attempt by placing a witches hat at the base, the twist, We had to nominate how long we thought we needed to comlete the winch. The faster you chose the more point you were vying for but if you didn't make your time then it was a DNF. For us it was a make or break stage. We knew we needed to pull a blinder if we were a chance for third. and we did. We picked the lowest time/highest point score of everyone and we made it with under 30 sec's to spare...
All in all it was a great bunch of guys and girls. I learnt alot and am thankful for the company and assisantance form some of the well seasoned competitors. I'll get some piccies up as i load them into photo bucket...
Here's the Lil' Mule heading North for the summer.....

All the pretty cars lined up in a row.
Goooooooooooo guido!.. This was there first attempt at driving up it... The next attampt resulted in a head on with the creek bank and a bent chassis.

Great write ups guys....awesome pix...brought it all back and how much fun Cliffhanger is.....
if I didn't know better I'd think it was our lwb Nissan back there again (your last pic.).......and one or two before, mind u Eugene hasn't exposed his butt like that yet!! he he!
That property has it all doesn't it, it's amazing and Rudi & Hobzee certainly put on a top event....get there next year everyone and support them and have a go.....as you can see you won't be sorry and you'll want to get back time after time too.
We unfortunately couldn't return ourselves cos we're busy sorting the swb steering and making a few changes to the front end. Had the winch housing to repair.......u know how it is......
Celia & Eugene.

Fantastic Shots Ruffy....... I will have to dig up some of you!!!
Just to clarify a couple of things firstly Telstra asured both rudi and I that we would have internet coverage at camp and we didn't so we did our best to get coverage at least once a day and were unable to open outerlimits due to the move in sites and problems at their end so we are sorry we did try. Secondly as with all events especially new ones there are always teething problems and unfortunatly due to the distance we have had trouble getting marshalls but hopefully next year will be another story and all the good words from the compeditors will help to keep it going
Well done to all who competed, watched and ran around to the best of their ability. Gooooooooo Guido!! your the best!!
Fingers crossed all goes well for next year

This comp would have to be one of the best for having a bit of everything
in the stages and when the stages where finished the friendship was awsum,as with all new events it did have minor teething problems, but Rudi and Hobzee done a fantastic job.Anyone thinking of doing an outback event should give it a go, you can even enter your stocker in A class and just have SOME FUN. Thanks to all the guys in C class for a really hard fought 4 days, especially Christian & Dan in their yellow canary, Robbie & his 2 navis who were with in 10 points of us on the last day and made for a great day of competiton. Can't wait for next year, but in the meantime i will see some of you at the OBC, untill then

A great weeekend was definatly had by all.
A big THANK YOU to all the spectators, you guys and girls were a great bunch to look after, you made our event memorable. thanks for baring with us when we were finding out information, i hated to tell you the dreaded words of I DONT KNOW so i did the best to come up with something that sounded like I did.
We loved the fact you were all so keen to get a raffle ticket and get in on the games, it even made some of the competitors jealous, which is a change.
Thanks you to all the spectators that made our controbution worthwile, you all seemed like you enjoyed yourselves, a big thanks also to the EVANS EVANS AND EVANS (lawrence) who seemed to clean up every night at prize time. well done.
Competitors, thanks for entertaining us, GUIDO well what more can we say the stage was yours and you worked it !!!!.
Thanks to Rudi and Steve for offering and running such and event. Everything that is learn't each year is multiplied to making a better event the year after.
Marshalls do a great job volunteering their time and money they are a wonderful help and without them the event and others like them would not go ahead. We do need more on board for next year though, so peoples please get involved. In turn one day when you want to compete they may also be available to you.
So i guess we will see you all next year for an event that is well and truly going to double in numbers yet again, we will have even more games and prizes for the spectators, the competitors will want to break down just to get in on OUR action.
Thanks
Nic & Brad.
