UNIMOG Camper - public service announcement.
seen for sale by the side of Nelson Bay Road near Anna Bay this afternoon - very nice looking, only 93,000km, camper back looked very comfortable and well decked out. I have no idea of price and have no affiliation with the seller at all, just posting it here for interests sake.
if you are interested PM me and I can give you the guys (or girls I guess) number - I have not called about it, pretty sure it's outside my budget and there's no way it would fit in my garage.
cheers
Brian

what license is required to drive one of these beasts?
There has been a D/C U1400 in the 4x4 trader for months started at around 90k+ npw it down to 59k. Would make a great tourer.

Light truck licence I believe for the 4 wheel ones.
And make sure you have plenty of time on your hands for touring..... the Australian army rarely drive theirs any faster than about 90kph.....
That mog is my mum's boyfriends.
I think he is asking around the $150k mark. He had the body built for their trip around OZ. It has a hydraulic extending roof (when fully loaded) and all the usual stuff like ac shower generator heaps of water / fuel tanks etc. He hasnt been trying too hard to sell it as I think he is still too attached.
So if any one is interested or would like to find out more PM me and I will gladely help.

GO the 80...The mods have started :-)
hahaha even the high end of my guessed price was only half price :) the camper is pretty schmick, but I paid less than that for my house!
hrm.. house. all paid off. worth three times what I paid for it. hrm.. can anyone say 'Equity Mate' :))
there is a little devil on my shoulder with a three pointed star in a circle on a stick instead of a trident.
evil! no! bad!

Mate they don't go much faster than 90kph, The fastest I have been in one is 105kph, they are governed and you dont wanna go much faster than that in em anyway. Cool rig our drivers don't know how to get the best outta them either (mostly ricer boys and girlz) .

My brother when he was at pucka reckoned the noise inside them at 100 is so bad you'd never wanna go much faster than 90 anyway. Looking at the tyres on em here (there's a heap of them up at Enoggera) I can see why....... Looks a bit like a Jungle trekker but about 2 feet taller....
There not bad as an Orf road Vehicle. If i had the money i would buy 1 as it was my mode of Transport whilst i was in the Army at Holsworthy (Liverpool NSW)
Yes it is only a Light Truck Licence but i don't think it exist's in Melb anymore. I only say that cause i had a LT Licence and went to a Heavy Combination with nothing inbetween ( no Med Rig, no Heavy Rig )

Some think Simex ripped the pattern and made a few mods to make the original JT.
There not that noisy less than a series IIA or a 110 landy. They ride better with a few tons in the back but the blokes always forget to drop pressures off road. Seen em bogged where you could drive a Pram through.
