Ferozius - details on your beast?
Mate, just wondering if you could give us some more details on your buildup, like how hard it was to put the v6 in, what did you have to do for the front mounting points for the front axle etc etc...I'd be very interested to see what you had to do...
Feral Build-up
Engine - After getting the chassis back to bare metal, all the IFS shyt cut off it was relatively easy to place the engine, gearbox and trannycase all together on the empty chassis and see where everything had to go...how long the tailshafts would have to be....angles....etc.
See the pic.
It was pretty much the same for the front spring hangers. We just lightly placed the body on the chassis and roughly marked where the wheels had to be under the arches, then removed the body and measured it up acurately. The front of the chassis needed to be extended to allow for the tyre size, and we still need to move the front diff forward another 20-30mm.

Yeah, I saw your post last night about needing another trannycase to get lower gearing made up and it got me thinking of what happened to the old tranny. Not sure, may have been tossed as rear output shaft had been hammered after I busted the welds on my rear diff and broke the tailshaft in the bush....it got hammered back in and was almost impossible to remove without causing more damage.
Drop Moose a note and see if he knows whats happened to it.

Big $$$
Gee Murray , When ya look at the big picture it almost could be filed under the " too hard basket " , BIG job . What would a mod like that cost ??? Ever thought of putting the Feroza body on a Rocky ???
mmm ...... live axles .

I dunno...he pretty much went the "extreme" end of mods, engine, axles, the works
I'm working out on pen n paper cheaper ways to do it...basically breaking it down in stages, meaning short periods of mods to keep cost down and keep it on the road...
1st stage would be something like remove IFS, put in toy axle, and either rear axle as well or modify exisitng axle to change bolt pattern. 2nd stage would be spring over, larger tyres, lockers etc...
More a matter of $$$, parts and my own skills Think I have a good plan for the front spring hangers sussed, and it wouldn't be too hard to have them attached to the frame before the IFS is removed, meaning I can remove the IFS myself at home, then bolt up the front axle....
That and damm driveshaft mods...requires some custom stuff to get the feroza shaft attached to the toy flange...

Andy - I was initially gonna put the Feroza body on a chopped Hilux chassis....problem with that is it then becomes a "new" car and has to meet 2002/3 ADR's......so IFS off - Hilux diff on !!
And while they were at it....it was just as easy to do a V6 conversion with Hilux boxes - therefore no problems with tailshafts.....only the length and the angle !!

Definetly have to go the hilux axles with the Feroza. To run 33" tyres you'd need 5.71 R&Ps (stock feroza's are 5.29 already), and the availability of axles, lockers etc make it really the only choice..
Width is the only problem. I have the wide track and it's 3" wider than a solid axle lux. Ways around it of course...offset wheels, use an independant rear and use IFS hubs, rotors calipers on the front to get extra width...
