lucas 29D8 electronic dizzy

i just picked this dizzy up for the rangie now im wondering do i need to just wire it to the coil like older v8 ford ignitions or does it have to go throu a black box type thing like some jap stuff ie mitsubishi sigma has a box thing thats wired to the dizzy and to the coil i googled and cant find fuck all info on this dizzy i would say its out of an rover car heres a link to the dizzy http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... &rd=1&rd=1

Most electronic ign. need a magic box, because the little opto sensor isn't a switch as such, it just sends a signal to the magic box which inturn operates the coil,

Older ford V8 you say?? you must mean points type, cause the first ford stuff had a massive silver box which would regularly shite its knickers

Mmmmm, thats right, the later dizzy than that had its module in the dizzy and just had to wire to the coil,

so how do i wire the farkin thing up. the bloke recons it had some kind of balest resister. around these parts rover parts are thin on the ground and im not going to wast my time trying to make some holden junk fit

i havent got it yet. if i need to run an amplifier i will use the solid state job out of a sigma i havent seen one of those fail yet. have replaced plenty of ford moduals but nearly allways on the 6cyl i think the heat fucks them more than the v8 but the v8 fucks coils un less you relocate it to the inner guard as the heat and vibration kills it
