just picked up my first car on the weekend a 91 vit softtop auto sometimes i hav to rev it to 6500rpm to get to to change gears. y is it doin this?

Do you think there is a definite problem or have you just got a severe case of lead-footed-ness commonly associated with owning a zook?

no i learnt not to lead foot the barby drinks to much
but only seems to do it not long after start up and it will go to 4000 or so and wont change then i gotta flat stick it to get it to change

might be a common thing my mates got a 93 carby auto aswell same problem as his got it fixed by getting his gearbox done, timing or something like that then it was fine im pretty sure anyway ill find out for u exact tho

my 16v '92 escudo changes pretty quick, only revs around 2700 @ 100kmh
